A collection for the Fall/Winter season.

I approach my design work as telling a story and within Into the Water my protagonist visits her New England home and is reliving her family’s history. She’s digging out old family pictures while living in her grandmother’s house decorated in vintage florals and wearing her grandfather’s workwear on her errands.

I was inspired by my own experience of growing up in New Bedford on the south coast of Massachusetts. Being a coastal city, New Bedford has a strong history of whaling & fishing. I pulled inspiration from vintage fisherman images and workwear details. For print development, I looked at floral woodblock prints, hand-drawn windowpanes, and bold stripes. In my work I like a balance of feminine and masculine; so within my looks I try to mix these two elements within the silhouettes and details.
